hiding drop down menus

Hi,
i want to try and hide or make read only a drop down menu, but i still have to be able to use the value that i set for that menu, so i guess disable is out.
any help would be great

depends on the menu but forum216 if it's javascript.


or use CSS display:none or visibility:hidden.
