Hiding a subreport

I have a report that has a subreport on it. There are times if the
user so selects where you can hide the subreport.

I have used the .visible = false property. However when I hide the
subreport there is a huge space on the report where the subreport was
how can I remove this blank space?

The subreport is in the detail section of the main report but there
is other info. in the detail secion which I want to keep so I can't
hide the detail section. Any suggestions

set the cangrow and canshrink properties to 'yes'

additionally, you may need to set the cangrow and canshrink properties of the detail areas of your reports/subreports to 'yes'
