Running Win 2K.
We're using VNC to monitor workstations in classrooms. The problem is students can tell when we are viewing them. The VNC icon changes colour, we want to hide these icons.
I would think that if someone knew that they were being watched, they would not be doing "bad" things. Only having limited experience with VNC, you should consult the documentation.
We used to use VNC until we found a FAR faster & superior product (and smaller too) called RAdmin.
From what I remember, the VNC icon will not display if you dont install the default registry settings, and leave the VNC service startup as manual. We were able to use VNC 3.3.3R2 in this manner without any icon whatsoever in the taskbar.
Im not sure if it will display with the service starting automatically when you boot, but it worked for us - we didnt want the users to know either..so we could bust'em, and catch them in a lie.
hehehe
