You would have to remove the code from the site that you do not want the search at. What development software are you using? Visual Studio, FrontPage? If you have any of them installed in a computer that you use to access the SharePoint Site, all you have to do is open the SharePoint Site, go to the browser File and click on "Edit with .."
In the Central Sharepoint Administration, I unchecked the box to allow full-text search. I had to go to the Windows Sharepoint Services page to deselect it. On the Sharepoint Portal Server page, Component Configuration doesn't have the possibility to disable full-text searching.
But after I did that, the search box on the portal is still visible. Do I have to do something with the portal to make the search box disappear?
