I have set up IIS to host our internal website. Is there any way of hiding the actual IP address by someone type in for example h t t p://ourcompany instead of the IP address for example h t t p://99.999.9.9 (http have been extended to stop hyperlinks in this thread)

Everything is working using the IP address.

This isn't a major issue but asking someone to type in the company is much easier than the IP address.

Thank you

Set an A record in DNS for the name you want and point it to the IP of your website.

I hope i understood the question properly.

Thank you for the quick response. I am getting around the system quite well and have a fair knowledge but can you point me in the direction for setting an A record in DNS is please?

Thank you, I'll take a look in work tomorrow and post back with the result.
