I would like to hide the presence of the external modem on my networked W2k sp4 PC. I can remove the modem from device manager and the modem will still work, but upon boot, PlugNPlay finds it and tries to install it again. I cancel the install and get a modem in device manager with a yellow exclamation point which I delete again. Is it possible to disable PlugNPlay for that one specific device only?
