hide drill down

I must be missing something so obvious...
I want to use the Hide - Drill Down Ok feature.
I have 3 groups - 1)vendor no and 2)order no 3)order-line with detail info with a running total counting order no per vendor in group 1 and a running total counting lines per entire report. Group 2 & 3 headers and footers are suppressed. This all works fine.
I just want to show the group 1 info and then drill down to detail as needed so I set the Hide function on the detail.
I get the magnifier on vendor no and it brings up another tab but I cannot go below this - I do not see any detail.

Another link said to make sure a group-name is not within a text field. I have none of these. Still not working.

Group headers 2 and 3 should be hidden, not suppressed--but then you have to drill down through these levels. If you are not displaying these groups, why not just use these fields for sorting and remove the groups. Then you can drill down directly to the details from Group #1.

Ok, this was a bad example. Yes, sorting worked in this instance so after I removed the unneeded groups I can drill down to the detail. Thanks.
However, I had tried setting group 2 & 3 (header & footer) to hide (because I'm sure I will have a need to do this in another report) and I couldn't get anywhere on a drill-down.

You should be able to drilldown to the details section by drilling down on each heading--as long as the group field is NOT placed in a text box, which will prevent drilldown. I just tested this with three groups set to hide and it worked fine.
