I have used access 97 for a while but now our company is moving to 2000. With 97 I had setup the database to not allow the users to see the main objects in the database - However, now with 2000, when you open the database, you get one window with the switchboard that I have setup to open but you also get a seperate window that opens with the database objects (meaning the main database window)

Can someone tell me how (if?) I can hide this when the database is opened?

thanks!!!!!

Fred

I actually do have that "unchecked" any other ideas - thanks for your help!!!!

No, actually, I don't have any other ideas. There's nothing else I know of that will cause the database window to display on startup besides having "Display Database Window" checked in the startup options.

The only thing I can think of to try for troubleshooting is moderately painful: create a new database, import all your objects from the old one, and set the startup options appropriately.
