I've included some text in a hidden division at the start of my page to hopefully help in search engine optimization. I've hidden the division by relative positioning using CSS. I was wondering if any of you experts could comment on this action. The page is at any help with further SEO will be much appreciated.

Good way to get banned from a search engine permanently. Check out some search engine optimization sites through Google if you want tips on that subject. The best thing to do is make a good site since human reviewers are going to actually SEE how good the site is. The old "tricks" for fooling search engines don't work so well any more, and a lot of them will get your URL blacklisted. Don't you think in all the years the search engines have been in business that the people who program the spiders haven't come up with ways to overcome a lot of those things?

While a small amount of text is unlikely to earn a ban it isn't worth the risk for the minute advantage it would give you. Two or three decent on topic inbound links would do far more for the site with 0 risk.

BTW I'd get the redirect sorted out first before worrying about SEs, a 303 redirect is a killer. No directory will list you with that redirect in place which is one thing you do need.

Hmm thanks Chris. I'm not sure I understand your comment on the redirect though. I have a site that is part of a redirect and it's highly rated with Google. If you search Spirtualist Nanaimo in google the site is first on the list. I keep that site on my server and use a redirect for it. Or am I misunderstanding your comment.

Yep It's called a Google Bomb It's there by link text alone.
There are 497 results for that phrase some of them point to that one page and use that phrase as anchor text.
Though more do point to this page users.churchserve.com/bc/loving_spirit/Churchpage.html

BUT your site only has 3 pages indexed in Google, one of them is the churchpaget.htm listed twice.
Now simply because of the redirect, w*ww.lantzvillecomputers.com/principlesJoy.htm and w*ww.lantzvillecomputers.com/Explanation.html are not even seen by the search engines.
Take the root of your site for instance This is Googles Cache for it. You link to it from every post you make and the only thing that google has is the fact that it exists. That is not a sign of something that is working.

And BTW Yahoo is the same with only 3 pages and MSN only knows about one page.
