I've created a task that I want to disable but I can't find it. I have "show hidden tasks" on and I have looked around in the registry but I just can seem to find it.
Yes, and I have task scheduler set to show hidden tasks too . I've looked in every task scheduler folder regardless of whether or not it made any sense for them to be there.
I made these tasks from the event viewer. if you right click on the event in the log it gives you an option to create a task on that event. It even tells you that you have to edit it from the task scheduler.
I have one I made that way that I can see (it's working fine) but there are at least two of my first attempts still running out there. I really want to stop them.
I just checked there as you suggested and I did not find any tasks that I could not see from task scheduler.
I'm very confused. this task sends an email and I'm still getting the emails with the subject line I set up in the task. What other than the task could be causing this?
When I created a Task triggered by an Event Viewer error I clearly see that Task listed in Task Scheduler/ Active Tasks, it is listed under the name of whatever the Event Viewer named it when you used the Event Viewer to attach the Task.
See if you can create a similar Task and see what it gets called.
you are saying, that under the TASK SCHEDULER (START MENU >> type schedule >> click Task Scheduler >> Expand Task Scheduler Library and click Event Viewer Tasks on the left.) that there are NONE (other than the one mentioned above) listed?
