Have recently took a compTIA exam and think i got a certain question wrong.

The question was asking me that if the pc is in hibernation mode and there is a power outage is data lost when there power is returned? or can you get it back through the hyberfil.sys ??

Well a Hibernating computer is basically turned off. The computer stores the current state of memory onto the hard drive, and turns itself off. It then restores it when you turn it on.

So a power outage does not really affect it in any way.

If the computer were in stand by mode then yes a power outage would affect the data stored.

Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.
