Hiberfil.sys, Pagefile.sys -File Too Big.

I m using Windows XP. I found 2 big file.
Hiberfil.sys-522,292KB (hidden files)
pagefile.sys-783,336KB (hidden files)

I like to investigate on this 2 big file. What file is that? is that Windows XP file, or may be Virus file.

Anyone using Windows XP have this 2 file on their pc also?
Is it these 2 file can be deleted? Please commend.

pagefile.sys is the file which contains backup information for restoring on windows. Hiberfil.sys controls hibernation on windows if im correct. You can disable both however dont delete them. If you want to disable them let me know and I will show you.

Pagefile.sys is the paging file and is required for XP to run correctly, it is not recommended by Microsoft that you run without a paging file.

If you don't use Hibernation, you may disable it, and that will remove the Hiberfil.sys from your computer.

Thanks, I had been disable the Hibernate in Start -> Setting-> Control Panel -> Power Options ->Enable Hibernation (Untick).
