Hi,

Had a couple of complaints over the past week about this. People call and when listening to a users greeting it cuts to beep after about 1-2 seconds. Isnt always the same user and if you call back again it works fine.

We have about 15 lines in a hunt group going to our VM and I have tested all of them and no issues.

Not really a biggie.. but just curious what could be causing this.

it is usually due to some random noise that the voicemail detects and interupts the greeting. Callers using speakerphones or cell phones for example.

Agree, are the callers using cell phones?

Not sure which voicemail as you don't say but if its a Nupoint I believe there is an FCOS option that controls whether the caller can interrupt the greeting. As a test you could remove that and see if it still occurs.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Nupoint 4.1.1 I think.

The complaints have been from inside the office, not on cell, not on speaker phone. One of the users that complained is actually on the same physical POE switch as the user with the issue.

When it happened to me I am certain I didnt press one (that option is enabled and disabling it would probably cost me my job. No one wants to listen to their coworkers greetings lol)
 
the Nupoint has a COS option to force the Greeting to play without interuption. Turn it on and see if the symptoms go away

Thanks. This is an intermittent issue. I cannot change the COS without pissing off about 450 users.
