Hi,

We've a C3650 workstation with two internal hot-swap HDDs. Last time we rebooted the system, it didn't mount the second HDD which has one one lv on a single vg.

The pvdisplay gives the following error:
hp01:/]pvdisplay /dev/dsk/c3t5d0
pvdisplay: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c3t5d0":
The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to this volume group
pvdisplay: Couldn't query the list of physical volumes.
pvdisplay: Couldn't retrieve the names of the physical volumes belonging to volume group "/dev/vgglb".
pvdisplay: Cannot display physical volume "/dev/dsk/c3t5d0".

It's urgent and important. Any help, ideas are welcome.

No one's worth your tears. The one who is, won't make you cry.

1. You may have a bad disk.
run ioscan -funC disk. From the results, look for disk c3t5d0. If you have an old ioscan report you can compare it to what you have now. If it is not listed, get hardware support. They can verify if it is truely dead.

2. If the disk is there, (a GOOD thing), perhaps the volume group is not activated. Perhaps it just needs to be activated to see the physical volume.
Run vgchange -a y /dev/vg<name> to activate.
Run vgdisplay -v /dev/vg<name> to recheck the pv name.
Then run the pvdisplay command.

I hope it's option 2. clonea
