Hi there,
I made a character with bones in max, when I make him do a walk cycle, eventually his body starts stretching way forward past the dummy boxes and he gets all deformed. I used the tutorial for the beetle in Max 3 for reference for my character. I didn't use character studio, it's like his feet of falling behind his body. It's my first time doing bones so I'm really uniformed.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

This might help.

Open up your track view. Check the graphs for the movement of the feet/body. Chances are that somewhere along the way of your keyframed movements, (if you set up the keys visually instead of typing them in numerically) the body was moved a little bit too much forward. Then when max begins to cycle the keyframes, the torso will begin to creep forward...moving past the feet.

If you are looking for a basic walk cycle, you want to make sure that the body stays in the center of the feet during the step. You should be able to adjust the keys in the track view to where they should be.

Hope this helps.

Thanks my friend,
I do believe that was the problem. I kind of wondered about that, being that it was an eventual movement--he walked fine for the first few steps. Im not exactly used to animating with the track view, so that will take some time.
thanks again.
