Hi there,

I am importing data from an excel sheet that is generated automatically overnight. In this spreadsheet there is an average cost and a last cost field. I want to update the access table which contains the price field, with the highest of the two costs from excel. I think that makes sense to read. The highest of the two from excel goes into the access field. Any ideas on how to do this would be great I've tried all sorts of weird and wonderful ways and seem to have some hideous examples.

Have you considered linking the Excel table and running a query? A query can also be run without linking the table by using ADO.

Yes I imported the table and ran a query using the iif function stating iif([a]>=, [a], ) substitutung the correct values in. However when I tried to run this query the table showed the values where a> b and didn't display the values where b>a. Any idea where I'm going wrong. Your help is appreciated
