Are you talking about monitoring like you are listening in, or are you talking about monitoring its traffic for troubleshooting purposes?
The 4K refers to listening in as silent monitoring or silmon. There is a combination of things required to do that: You nedd to have the feature activate in FEASU, you need to have the classmark for the ability to BE monitored in the target phone, and TO monitor on the phone that will do the work. Then I believe you either need to have a button assigned on the phone, or dial a code like * * * 5 for MONSLNT (see WABE) to start monitoring. It does not look like a COS parameter is required to do it - just the appropriate marks in Assistant.
If you are looking at monitoring the traffic to and from the station, like an ISDN trace, there is a different tool for that.

To use the other tool you want to go under Base Administration in Assistant, and then choose Application Control. That will show you a list of applications active in your system. If there is already a check mark in the box for RTDS (Real Time Diagnostics System) then that should appear at the bottom of the list of items under diagnostics in Assistant. If it is not checked, place a check mark in that ONE box and say Submit. Sorry for the caps, but DO NOT GO IN AND JUST CHECK ALL THE BOXES FOR EVERYTHING IN THERE!! You WILL cause performance issues on your system! Also, do not try to enable more than one item at a time.
RTDS is similar to the monitor tool I think you were referring to in your other post about 9006 (I came from there).
When you go into RTDS it will probably ask you to login. Just put your initials. That is so the next person who tries to go in there will be told someone else is already using it and given their initials. When you are done monitoring something STOP it. When you are done completely log out. RTDS will keep running in the background if you do not stop a process or are sloppy and do not log out (which is why it tells the next person someone is logged in - because you can start a trace and leave it run for a bit). If you leave it run a long time it will fill up some buffer and cause issues.
I haven't used it in a while and I don't have time to play, but you should be able to focus on a station, ISDN trunk, etc....
