Hi

My notebook is runing Win98SE. I want to read an WinNT4.0 hard disk via USB. Is it possible? If so, how to do it? Actually, I have had an USB adapter, but my notebook couldn't access this WinNT4.0 hard disk. Thanks for your attention and suggestion.

Regards

if the nt drive was formatted with NTFS you cannot access it from win98 js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

I feel sad about this situation. Anyway, thanks for your post.

A little further explanation: WinNT doesn't know anything about FAT32, only NTFS 4 and MS-DOS FAT16. Win95/98/ME don't know anything about NTFS 4 or NTFS 5. Win2000/XP are comfortable with FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS, their native NTFS is version 5. With WinNT, you could create a 2GB FAT16 partition on a 10GB drive and install MS-DOS and then install WinNT on the remaining 8GB NTFS partition, but DOS couldn't see it.

My friend's PC runs Win2000 and can read this WinNT4.0 hard disk. It's OK now. Thanks for your posts. I have learned something about WinNT.
