Hi,
is there a comparison (advantage;disadvantage) between ePolicy Orchestrator and Tivoli? Are there good arguments why one should use ePO when he is already using Tivoli with Risk Manager and Intrusion Manager?

The answer really is in the way the products were designed. Tivoli is a network management system. Its extent as far as AV is concern would probably be up to distribution only. ePO on the other hand, was designed for managing McAfee AV. That would include setting scan options, update schedules and more. Although ePO can also be used as a deployment tool for AV, it's main strengths are in management and reporting. Tivoli can only report on what it is given, which can either be SNMP alerts or just logs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I thought you'd say that. I had the same opinion until I read about Tivolis Risk and Intrusion Manager and I realized, that these add-ons combined with Tivoli are a pretty good alternative to ePO. Obviously we will keep on installing ePO since this tool has been developed for AV administration, I was just a little surprised.

Thanks anyway.
