Hi

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat 4.05 in a Windows 2000 professional machine, but I'm getting the following message:

The instruction at "0x10004827" referenced memory at "0x1030ae9c". The memory could not be "read".

The installation then terminates when I click 'OK"

Anyone know how I can resolve this? Please help.

Hello,
Have you tried to install in VGS mode?
Could be a conflict with something running as installing the program.
Also do you need to be logged on as administrator?
Good luck,

was logged on as administrator when trying to install... But I'm not familiar with VGS - what is it, and how do I install in VGS mode? Many thanks.

VGA mode is "safemode in other win versions"
Just copy the folder from the cd for acrobat to the desktop.
Then restart the computer in VGA mode. Just tap the F-8 key as it reboots. Should ask if you want normal mode or safemode.
Once the computer restarts then just double click on the folder and install the program.
This could correct the install if something running in the system is causing the problem.
Good luck!
