Hi ,

Iam using Access forms to display/edit and enter data. I wish to provide filter functionality ie; for displaying say the 5th record i have to use the data control to navigate thru the earlier 4 records, which is not appropriate. I would like to display the 5th record directly depending on the primary key value.

Hope somebody of u can help me out.

Thanx and Regards.

You need to be clearer about what you want to do.
Do you want to automatically display the last record for data entry or do you want the user to enter a primary key value and then display the appropriate record?

The problem with 'last record' is that such a concept does not necessarily make sense in relational tables as you usually want to sort by one or more keys.
In general, you will need to set the Filter property for the form to the appropriate value e.g. [Record ID]='5', but how you do this is not always easy.

If you are new to Access (or even if you're not!), I suggest you 'play' with the wizard attached to inserting a new Command Button on a form. Firstly it may do want you want. Secondly by investigating what the wizard has done you will learn how to adapt the code for your own purposes
