hi, I want to have my favicon be

hi,

I want to have my favicon beside the URL of my page,rather than the default internet explorer image...

I have right now put in my favicon.ico in the 'Root' directory of 'apache tomcat 4.0'. If i just type in the url

http://localhost:xxxx/favicon.ico,

the image shows up in the browser...but it doesn't seem to be picking up for the URL... if i bookmark my page.. i just can't c my favicon... it is still the default internet explorer image....

Can somebody plzz help me... Am I missing any link....

Please Note that I ahve also tried giving
<link REL=&quot;SHORTCUT ICON&quot; href=&quot;

http://localhost:8080/favicon.ico&quot;>;

under head of my login JSP.

Please note that I have a favicon.ico which is 16x16 etc..and i also restarted my tomcat server and also the browser...but it still doesn't seem to work...

Have you cleared your cache and temporary internet files? Also, make sure under &quot;Tools&quot; --> &quot;Internet Options&quot; --> &quot;Temporary Internet Files&quot; --> &quot;Settings&quot; --> &quot;Check for newers version of pages&quot; --Checked.
