I hope this is not crossposting..

Normally when I see the directory, I notice there is and .ldb file when the access database is open.. What will happen if I OVERWRITE the .mdb file when there is an .ldb file ?? This is out of curiosity.

In MS Access the .ldb indicates which users have locks on rows, tables, and pages. If all users are out of the database, it's safe to delete the .ldb file (it'll get re-created next time someone connects). Frequently in the case of a corrupted Access database the solution is to delete the .ldb file.

The .mdb file contains the actual data -- don't mess with it.

If you aren't going to delete the .ldb file, I'd leave it alone, since it goes along with the .mdb file as a matched set. (i.e. don't edit the .ldb with a hex editor or anything).
