Hi, I have client who has a few PC's networked using just
a hub. They are using Win98 and 95 and for internet sharing
they are using WinGate Gate Keeper. The problem is that
the PC's cant send or recieve email through Outlook Express on
Win98 through the proxy of the PC which is the Wingate
server with the modem. Im nearly sure its due to Wingate
coz the one that has the modem and is the Wingate server can
download mail no problem. I have check everything (or so I
think!!!) in Outlook but I get the error message when sending
or recieving saying "cant find host mail.server.ie etc etc"
Again I think its wingate that is haveing a stubern POP proxy.
Anyone come across this b4 or have any ideas???
Thanks.

I don't know Wingate specifically, but Proxy Servers I have used have needed the details of the Pop3 account and Pop3 and SMTP servers entered somewhere, with the email client directed to the ip address of the computer running the Proxy not the regular Pop3 and SMTP servers.

Hope this is helpful.
