I have added my user to /etc/opt/samba/smb.conf under the required group :
[group]
path = /group
comment = /group
valid users = @group bert,fred,betty,bambam
force user = @group
force group = group
case sensitive = Yes
short preserve case = Yes

I have added the user to usermap ie bambam and he also has a unix account.

When i go through IE to port 901 and enter the following :

User Name : bambam
New Password : *********
Re-type New Password : *********

It goes through fine but on the NT box i try to map a drive and it keeps asking for a network password.Can anyone tell me where the problem lies as others can map to this but not this user.

I would have thought it was a samba problem even though it does not show the server in dns but you can still map from another box.
