Hi,

I have a system on 8.1.79 with Voicemail Pro on a physical Windows machine. They want this to move onto a VM Server 2022 - Is this compatible?
All help is appreciated.

not supported but should work

8.1 is from around 2012 but should still work.

Why Server? Use a Win10 or 11 machine instead except if you have features that require the server OS.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for the speedy reply - the customer wants to get rid of the physical machine and install it on the Virtual 2022 machine. Going tomorrow morning to carry out the job. Been a while. These are the correct steps?

Install the Admin Manager and Voicemail Pro with the same-level software.
Take a Backup of the IP Office and also a Backup of the VM Pro.
Test the Admin Manager connect to the IP Office
Upload the VM Pro back up - change the voicemail IP address on the IP Office to the new VM 2022

Test Voicemail and main numbers.
Regards

that sounds correct.
You can also install the latest R9.1 of voicemail as that is still compatible with the 8.1 IPO system.

I always use 9.1 if I re-install VmPro on any of the older releases (the ones using ADI licensing) and never had any issues so far. Hope I didn't jinx it for my next time :)
