Hi, i have a little problem!!
I have on NT primary server and a backup(Domain A), now the problem is with my user from another network, and another NT primary server (other Domain B) i want to connect to that server, i establish trust relationships between the two primary servers (A and B), i have a user user1 in the Domain B, and a user user1 in A with the same password as in B, they both use WINS, but when i want to give access to myself to a shared folder in server B, i can't access, unless i put the user B/user1, in the folder security options, do you know what the problem is?? because i know that i don't need to establish trust relationships between the two server, only i need to create a user in the two servers, with the same passwords!! and that it!!
Now i have another problem, if i put myself (B/user1) in the folder security options of server A, i can see that folder from the network B, but i ca't see the shared folders from the backup server!! i don't know what's happening, please someone help me!!

Did you set up a two way trust relationship? Or did you have Sever A trust Server B or visa versa?. If you have a global account with administrative rights on both domains then you should not have a problem. If not make sure you are a part of global group with certain rights on the trusted domain and add this group to the trusting domain local group. Hope that made sense to you.

It's also better to use different user names & different passwords(sometimes NT4 gets confused about the credentials he has to use to access a share or folder

HI kareem, thanks for the advice, i did a test with a few NT servers and realize that when i have a Trust Relationship between two servers i need to add the users from the trusted domain to the group in the trusting domain, and that should do it,, but right now i have another problem, and i think i'll need to install again the backup server in A, because i can't see the folders in the backup server A, i check the folders security options, and in all shared folders are correct, but still i can't see it from the network B. From the primary server A there is no problem but from network B i can't. hope you can help me, so i don't need to re - install the backup A.
