Hi,

I found the below link in one of the postgres mail lists concerning bids by various vendor supporting competing backend databases. I think the vendor offering the postgres database as a enterpise mission critical database did a good job of presenting the many strong points of the postgres database.

Cool news, Leland. Thanks for the link. I hope we do end up having Postgres as the .ORG provider's DBMS. Maybe then we won't see such embarrassments as Verisign/Network Solutions has shown us over the past couple of years ;-).

So actually, Verisign has NOT proved to be the best sales case for Oracle, in spite of the Oracle pitch in the ICANN link. But, if there is to be an open source DBMS applied, Postgres is the one that works the most like Oracle. -------------------------------------------
