I want to know how to protect a specific item (computer, server etc) on a network. I would like to develop a program that copies a file from this item, manipulates it on another computer and then writes the new file to the item. The program should have some kind of password verification. I'm thinking about using a peer-to-peer tachnique. Do any of you have any better idea?
Initially I'm interested of how to WRITE to the item.
