Hi Guys,
I have a Micros 3700 system running on an XP machine and the server is failing. I don't have installation media and don't know how to copy the database. Can you guys help me?
Thanks

the version of 3700?

to backup you can use this command DM -B -V on the window run. once its done navigate to this folder D:\MICROS\Database\Data\Backup\Archive assuming you installation of micros is in D drive, then copy the most recent files away, make sure the file don't have a .bad extention

Then to restore type this command dm -u D:\MICROS_2016_03_21_22_32.mbz5g2, replace the path with your backups path.

Yeah but he has to move it to a new server. Whole different thing

Given your lack of familiarity with Micros setup, I would advise against doing this yourself.

Just so you can see what is involved, here is the setup guide. You will first have to stage a server to the same version of Micros you are currently on before you can even start considering doing things like transferring the database and various integrated applications like gift cards.
