Hi everyone,

I just took a new job and found that they are running a PIX 520. I looked at the current setup and in the DMZ they have the main external webserver. But it also hosts the external DNS. By opening up port 53 and 80 to the same box are there any draw backs to bandwith at the firewall level?

No, no bandwidth issues. DNS traffic is minimal unless it's configured wrong.

dns ability are gone. It's better to have all of your eggs spread around in different baskets. If one basket goes to hell, you don't lose everything.
