Hi Everyone,

I have an issue with Avaya One-X that I've not been able to figure out. We have Avaya One-x installed on all our computers. They are Windows 10 Ent. Each PC may have multiple users who use the computer for different shifts. What I am seeing is one user will be unable to hear any sounds within Avaya. Even the three beeps when logging in or out cannot be heard whether through a headset or the computers speakers. They can hear all system sounds. The others on the computer have no issues. It has become a frequent issue and I want to find out what is causing it and how to fix it rather than just reimaging the computer or blowing away the user's Windows profile.

What I have done:
-Renamed the user's Windows profile (c:\users\username). I then log the user in and audio works. So I know it is in the user's profile.
-Went into the users Appdata and deleted the roaming\avaya folder. Restarted, logged the user in and the problem still exists.
-Uninstalled Avaya for all users, cleaned the file system/registry, restarted and reinstalled Avaya. Again, all users work except for the one user.
-Updated the BIOS and all drivers.
-I've run procmon and am looking over the logs for this user and another and comparing the logs but have not found anything meaningful as yet.

Again, all system sounds are fine. No errors in the event logs, no errors in Avaya logs or on the screen. Just no audio through Avaya at all. The computer's sound is not muted.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to just blow away profiles.

It is possible to mute a specific application with the sound settings in Windows. Try and see if that user muted the application at some point.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Unfortunately, it isn't that simple. I've checked all the local, Windows settings. I am trying to find out where I might find the registry settings for audio within Avaya One-X. I've been pouring through the logs from procman and doing comparisons but I have not found it yet. For it to suddenly start happening to more than one user is pretty weird.
