Hi everybody,

I need to come up with a bulletin board-style cgi script that will allow a news page for a club website to be updated from a remote location. At present, the entire history has to be uploaded, which is a real chore. Anyone got any ideas as to how I might be able to do it?

Thanx

You can loadsa scripts here, perl/cgi, PHP, asp.

If you have PHP on your server, I could write a news script in about 10 minutes. I recommend PHP to anyone. Dean Owen

Yeah, we do have PHP on the server. We use HTML 3.2, because some members browsers won't support 4.0. This will work out so great if you can help me out. I'm just learning JavaScript, and trying to help a friend out, so, I really appreciate the leg up.

Sure.

What do you need? Just a straight News script that writes to the top of the page, with only authorised users able to post? Dean Owen

Yeah, that's exactly what I need, alright. The title across the top of the page actually reads "News/Diary" (it's for a fan club). Thanks for hanging in there. It's been a long week.
