Hi everybody.
.
I am wondering if it is possible to develop programs using GNU COBOL and make it work on an Androïd phone?
I don't want to pay royalties like some companies are asking.... far too much, even for a 'hello world' program, some of the think you should pay about 300 euro for a runtime.

I am not familiar with GNU, but I understood it generates C source which is probably usable on Androïd.

If anyone can show a flow of it or some standard code, I am perhaps able to help with a generator.

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Regards,

Can't tell you about running it on a phone, But I can say that GNU COBOL's not at all what I expected a freeware compiler to be. It's quite advanced with many feats one would expect of the high $$$ compilers and more. It "ports" through c, and you can cause it to save (retain) the c source code it generates as well.
