I'm wrapping up some research on FR vs. ATM and was would like to hear from anyone who has experience with FR over DS3.

In particular, lessons learned, compatability issues, carrier support etc.

Have received some prelim on queing issues with active directory or UDP apps. (Probably congestion) Sooooo, anything along those or related lines is helpful, and
Thanks!

If you are concerned with DE on the Frame-Relay than go with the OC-3(ATM) circuit. Remember to plan ahead than play catch up. “Reserve your right to think, for even to think wrongly is better than not to think at all”

High Speed Frame Relay (>DS1) works well as it avoids some of the complexity of FRATM (Frame Relay to ATM interworking) when connecting low-speed (DS1 or lower) to high speed sites.

ATM is better for deterministic point-to-point throughput, and will scale past DS3, but does not work well at sub-DS1 speeds.

Thanks Darin,
The research done so far indicates that hicap FR is fine for typical site to cloud connections but not so for aggregation of multiple sites to a hub site or data center.
Any experience or thoughts on this ?
Best,
Tom
