Hi

Can anyone suggest a good all-round graphics card that has a reasonable amount of on-board memory. I want to add a TV card but was advised to get a separate TV card rather than an all in one card like the ATI All-In-Wonder.. Im not particularly a games player but do make use of video streaming and graphics packages..

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

Just depends on price bracket and more specific information about use.
My favourate midrange card at the moment is the
Geforce 4 4200Ti which comes in 64 and 128mb versions.
This card is a real power house and a good all rounder.
Just about everybody is making cards with this chip now my prefered brand/model is the Leadtek Winfast 250 TD LE which has heatsinks on the memory as well as the processor.
Over here in the UK a 128mb version will set you back around £140 about $180.USD?
A cheaper alternative would be the Geforce 4 MX460 at around £100/$125? Martin

trust me GeForce4 Ti 4200 is a pain in the A$$

i m seriously considering trade my nVidia GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb DDR into a GeForce3 Ti500 64MB DDR
G3 has much better performance

Kicket,
HUH?? Are you saying that a GeForce3 Ti500 64MB outperforms a Geforce TI 4200 128MB? I doubt that...

ChrisPJames,
If you're looking for video input as well as output, then you'll want to buy a TV Tuner card to run in conjunction with your gaming card

-OR-

You could go with the ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro which comes with both top-of-the-line gaming and video capture in the sub-$500 market

Kicket!
Sounds like you've had a problem with your 4200Ti??
because I went from a GF3 Ti500 3D Prophet to a Leadtek 4200Ti both 64mb, and the 4200Ti is a far better card.
My 3D benchmark went from around 8,000points to 10,456.
NO CONTEST!!! Best buy I have ever made. Martin Please let members know if there advice has helped any.
