Hi,

Can anyone help with this? I need to have text dynamically
centered in a report. Here's what I mean. I have 3 fields on a cover page in my report "Catalog Number", "Edition" and "Month/Year."

For now, I've just tried to center these fields on my report manually (I placed the "Edition" field
so it's centered under "Catalog Number" and "Month/Year", I centered under "Edition"). However, if the "Month/Year" field coming from my database is November 2001, then that would need to be more toward the left margin of my
report than April 2001 (simply because it's a bigger word). So, how do I take care of this? Is there anyway to dynamically center a text field?

Thanks,
MBaddar

Hi!

If I understand this correctly you are centering three lines one under the other. If that is the case then just make the three text boxes, or labels, as wide as you can (it is best to make them as wide as the report if possible) Line them up that they match exactly. Use the shift key to select all three and click format in the menu bar and select size and widest, then click format again and choose align left. With all three boxes still selected, move them together as far to left as possible and then move your cursor to the right side and enlarge all three together until the right side is as far right as possible. Finally, with all three still selected, click on the center justify button on the tool bar. Now, no matter what you put in each box it will be automatically centered on the report.

Thanks,

That sounds like a good tip. I'll try it and let you know how it works out.
