Hi All,
What are the controllers in a Sun Server? Is there any command or way to find out how many controllers are there in a server?

"prtconf | more " will show controllers with a lot of cryptic detail but should help.

Also try " /usr/platform/sun4u/sbin/prtdiags "
Note: substitute the correct platform if your system is not "sun4u" (ultra)

Hi,
Thanks for replying but I couldn't find the controller information in either of the two commands.I even used 'grep' command to search for ,in these 2 cmds.Is there any site which has related info.?
Thanks....

Standard SCSI settings
By convention, SCSI IDs were assigned as follows:

0-3 disks
4&5 tape
6 cdrom
7 controller
the target of controller is 7
