Hi all

question regarding h4k v7 to cisco the interface is ISDN

scenario:
Siemens local 8xxx while the cisco is 8xxxx
the problem is conflict number, is there a way to call to cisco without using prefix
for example once we dialled 8xxx the call goes to siemens and once we dialled 8xxxx the call must goes to cisco.

then once we dialled 8xxx that means call to siemens there is a way to make a 5sec. pause dialling to complete a dialing direc to cisco?

using ISDN we used s2cod for prefix and s2conn for direct dial but the problem for s2conn there is a conflict number 8xxx siemens 8xxxx cisco what should i do for this problem?

thanks

You cannot have any 8XXXX numbers that share beginnings with the 8XXX numbers because the system will match the first 4 digits it gets and go.

So if you have 81XX, 82XX and 83XX numbers at one site, it is OK if you have 84XXX, 85XXX and 86XXX numbers at the other site because the digit string stays unique through the 5th digit. If the first 4 match an existing station number it will call that station number instead. In theory, you COULD mix and match numbers, but that would make your dial plan horrendously messy and difficult to keep straight. In either case you will enter either your 4 digit extensions or your 5 digit extensions into WABE, and for the 5 digit extensions you will simply assign them to the route number of the trunk to the other side - when someone dials one of those 5-digit numbers the system will automatically send the call to the other side. You do the same thing on the 5-digit side. You enter all your 4-digit numbers in the dial plan over there and then set the route to the trunk that connects back to the 4K, and that system will route those calls over there. It should be easy enough to maintain and set up if you dedicate unique blocks of numbers to both sides. In the scenario I outlined you will not need to dial any prefix codes or set up anything special - the dial plans will handle all of it.

It may be possible by changing the dialing mode to overlap sending.
However it is best avoided because for example if you have a HiPath extension 8123 and a Cisco extension 81234 you might experience problems.
If a customer is asking this just tell him no. :)
If it is for yourself then try changing the dialing mode as follows:DIS-ZANDE:OPTISET;
CHANGE-ZANDE:TYPE=OPTISET,EDITDIAL=YES;
This might not be correct but try it first, if that does not work then try
CHANGE-ZANDE:TYPE=ALLDATA,SIPDIAL=YES;
This will force OptiSet/OptiPoint users to press OK similar to a SIP phone when they are finished dialing,
There is probably a timeout but I don't know where that is.
You can also try 'Hotel Numbering'(HOTELNUM) in ZAND/ALLDATA2, this allows for example
2 for Room Service but also 2xxx for room extensions depending on how fast or slow that you dial.

Remove any TWABE entries as they tell the system how long the numbering should be to speed up pre-dialling
