Hi, all.

In my routing table, I want to put a netmask of 255.255.255.0 on the default gateway. How can I do that?

It depends on your distro. It is done by 'route' command and proper parameters, but you usually don't invoke this command by hand. It is in some system script and this script loads proper valuas from configuration file. Its location varies. In RH 7.3, it is /etc/sysconfig/network and parameter is NETMASK.
