Hi all,

I had download IDS 9.4 eval copy from IIUG. When i run setup & create an instance i get the foll error on my log Build_smi failed, cannot build sysmaster database. But my instance is running. But no tables are created under sysmaster database. Foll. is the list of my error log file.
Please advice.

Did you try to start the buildsmi command by hand again ????
If this won't work we need the trace file e:\tmp\af.3f75205
to figure out whats happened.
Or you can call the IBM/INformix support for free Installation support.

Hi Appi,

Thanks for your feedback, yes i did run the buildsmi.bat file and also tried to run the sysmaster.sql script but it did not work. How will informix provide free installation support, since its a trial version and i have downloaded from iiug. A sample output of e:\tmp\af.3f75205 is given below. Also will my work get hamper if i contine to work without sysmaster, any other workarounds. I even tried re-installing the server a couple of times but it did not work. Also tried to create new instances but that too did not work. Any suggestions -
