Hi All,

I am finding some odd behaviour with Userform controls in Excel 97 and would appreciate any help anyone can give me as I learn what to do.

If I open a new workbook and create a new userform and a add a single label it has a default font of Tahoma 8-point which I am quite happy with (I don't know if there's any way to change the defaults, nor do I care at the moment).

If I now change (via the Properties box) the Height to 10 and the Top to 10, the displayed text changes to what appears to be Tahoma 10-point. The font property itself remains unchanged.

Playing around a bit I found that Height 14 and Top 14 change the text to 7-point and various other combinations have various effects, such that precise positioning of labels so that they are aligned might cause one of them to have a different font from the others.

As you might imagine this is very frustrating. Is this a 'feature' or might there be something in my setup which I can change to stop it happening? I have tried on three different computers - all with Excel 97 but with different versions of Windows.

Any insights gratefully received,

Thanks in Anticipation,

Tony

Oops, I forgot to give this a title. I can't see any way to change it, so please ignore this and I will repost with a proper title.

Sorry,
Tony

Never seen that before - can only think that it is a bug. Failing anyone else knowing an answer here, I have sent the question out to an advanced excel discussion group which has at least 3 excel MVPs on it so I may get an answer there. Will let you know either way
Cheers Rgds

Tony .. it must be a bug. Itried it on Excel 2000 and mine seems to work properly. Have you downloaded and installed all the servicepacks and updates to your version of Office?

Well we have all SPs here and I get the same behaviour on xl97 Rgds
