HFIA Button

Can some please tell me what HFIA stands for and what is does or the benefit of it is. How can I add it to an entire system quickly. Thanks!

Hands Free Answer on Intercom. Why would you want to add a feature that you don't know what it is to the whole system? What type of phones do you have? Its main use is if activated on a phone, and that phone receives a voice intercom page, they can talk back to the pager without pressing their MIC button to talk back.

It is not me that "wants" it...I am the one who gets to install and I just wanted some knowledge of what I was doing. So, do I have to virtually visit each extension or can I go to one place in the programming and add this button.
At this particular school we have a magix system with 6 button phones in the classrooms. From what you are telling me, HFAI is basically making an internal call through the paging system with the handset.

You have to program the button on each phone individually at the phone, or through Centralized Telephone Programming. Through Centralized Telephone Programming, you can set up one extension, and copy it to the others.

HFAI allows you to RESPOND hands free when you receive a Voice Announce intercom call. It means that the microphone will be active, and the caller can hear you without you touching the phone at all. (Hence "Hands Free ANSWER on Intercom")

But remember, IT IS NOT FOR ALL PAGE. Its use is limited to an INDIVIDUAL VOICE CALL. Also, don't forget (if your processor is new enough) to use INTERCOM VOICE TO IDLE ONLY, to prevent users from receiving VOICE CALLS while they are on the handset.
