Hey guys
I just effectively killed the data partition on my IDE RAID 0 (Stripe)drive. What I did: I experimented with Norton Ghost and got to the point when I was asked to find a partition for the back-up. I indicated the data partition (thinking it would only write a .gho file but was in the wrong selection of Ghost (I was going to write a partition!) Ghost informed me it would write over the entire partition, so I quickly changed my answer from yes to no (as I thought). Unfortunately, the highlighting in Norton is off: on looks off and vice versa) So I confirmed "yes" to write over my partition. When I realized my mistake, I turned off the computer hoping it would not destroy my entire data.
So, now I have a datapartition that is not recognized by either system. Powerquest Partition Magic reports a NTFS partition of 10 GB which is correct, which is fully used. Win2K reports an access error (wrong parameter). So, needless to say I have no back-up (this is what I wanted to do with Ghost in the first place...)
Any (and I mean any help would be appreciated.
In dispair,
Urs
