Hey, a Problem concerning layers 1

Hey, i'm creating a background for a site in flash 5, i seemed to have inadvertantley draw half my picture on one layer, and half on another layer, how to i combine these two layers into one?, it's mainly to make it easier to use later, when i'm addind tweens etc. so i dont have only half of my pic moving, any help would be much appreciated,

shut off (click on the little eye) all the other layers except what you need to combine...select one and lock the other...take your pointer tool and select everything in one of the two layers...cut...unlock the other layer...paste..
