Will PARTNER ACS R3.0 Remote Administration Software work on an ACS that is a R5.0? If not, can someone help me out with the remote software because my company is too cheap/stubborn to buy it. We just installed 32 phones into a hospital and now they want us to hook up another site similar to it. And, well, you know how it goes. Especially when the customer didn't want the Line Appearances horizontal!

Also, I need to ask if there is any possible way to edit the software code so that you can just copy an extension and not have to worry about the DSSs and other stuff? I think that would be helpful, too.

You cannot do an R5 from R3 remote software, but you can do R3 from R5 software. If you try, you get an error message when you try to upload the new data.

You can download the remote software for free from Avaya support or other vendors, such as metrolinedirect.com.

The copy function will copy lines, DSS keys, ringing, privacy, such like that. No need to do code editing. Just create a new extension, say 57, and use it as a template to copy to others if you want.
