The President of the company just stepped into my office and asked me to look at something. He can open some websites, but there is no scroll bar on the right to see the rest of the page. I had him email me the link to one and I have a scroll bar. The wheel on the mouse won't scroll it down either.

I've never seen this. I'm not sure the version of IE he has, but I think I'm going to upgrade and/or update his IE. If that doesn't work, has anyone ever seen this before? Some websites have the scroll bar and some don't, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it....

TIA....

I have not seen this issue, but I would start here:

Open a new notepad session, to be called IE_fix.cmd, and copy/paste the below:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll

Save the file, then double click IE_fix.cmd and answer the prompts. Ignore any error messages.

Reboot and test again.

If no joy, under IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab, and untick "Enable third-party browser extensions."

If after a reboot that sorts the issue, you have a malware BHO object causing problems. See faq608-4650

It is probably a Malware issue. The President was having major probs a while back. His kids play on his computer and he was having all kinds of popups. I ran SpyBot and then Ad-Aware and when that was all said and done I opened Task Manager and selected the Processes tab. I Google searched every single process I didn't recognize. If they were data miners or something Google didn't recognize I searched for it on the machine. When I found the executable on the machine, I ended the task and deleted it. I had to delete about a dozen items. I'm guessing I missed something.

Thanks for the advice. I will put them to work as soon as he will let me use his system. Probably at lunch tomorrow....

An orderly cleanup is strongly suggested.
