Hi All,
i'm on the hunt to learn how to do a function with internet explorer. Some of you may know that you can change the search window frame on the left so that whatever kind of content you want is replaced in there (html pages included).
the same kind of window is opened on the bottom after you choose View- ExplorerBar - Tip of the Day.
I want to replace the content of that window, but i don't know how to target it or what it is even called ?

Thanks in advance,
BF

Yes, this file is currently c:\winnt\web\tip.htm (my PC). You can either edit the file itself or edit the registry to point to a different file. The location is stored under

HKCR\CLSID\{4D5C8C25-D075-11d0-B416-00C04FB90376}\Instance\InitPropertyBag\URL (default value = %SystemRoot%\Web\tip.htm)

Enjoy, Rob

Thanks for the reply, you have a good first step on accessing the window. Now the last step would be how to target the window.
A person can open and target the search window by using "target=_search" from the main or any other window, but what is the code for targetting the tips window ?

Thanks again,
BF

Sorry, misunderstood your request. Don't know how to target it.

Good luck in your _search, Rob
