I'm a systems admin for a small company and we have all our users emails stored in their users directories on a central server. The problem is netscape stores all attachments inline (i.e. Mashed into the same file as the email text). The problem is users are filling up their mail boxes with attachments and they are complaining because they want to keep the emails but get rid of the attachments (example of one user: She has 450mb of email but 98% of the size is from Attachments.
I haven't found an easy way to tear out the attachments (Im guessing im going to have to write a perl script to do it), but has anyone else seen this problem and fixed it already? I really don't need to "re-invent the wheel".
Thanks in advance.
