my lan/wan spans the whole state with tons of nt servers.
everyone wants to log into other's nt servers.
my helper list is now 3 pages long.

my startup-config is approaching the same file size as the ios. (ok, a little joke)
for every portchannel on all of my MSM's i have 3 pages of helpers. (average 20 portchannels per MSM)

will someone just tell me that there isn't an easier way, and maybe i can sleep comfortably tonight.

are we configuring NT incorrectly? just a standard ip with the default gateway of the portchannel. there are no connectivity issues for nt to get out. nt will not allow you to login to that server unless you have the helper on YOUR vlan.

thanx

I would say that you may be able to set up an authentication server and point the helper at it, that way all users logging in across the wan get sent to one place to start with...however, setting this up would require a deeper understanding of the domain structure within your WAN and between each server in the internetwork that you have. Likely that you will need trust relationships established between domains to enable this.

I have ever met the same problem with WAN links.
first , you must set Wins on all yours Nt Server.
second, you must set trust relation ship between Nt domain.

You can also set all your domains by setting an entry in your lmhosts file in order to let all Nt station find the primary Domain controller....

Third, ask some Nt Certified engineer to tune your network...
